The Urban Yogis is a series of yoga lessons originally created as a program to address the rising levels of gun violence occurring within the surrounding neighborhoods of NYC. Personally affected by tragedies, this yoga program was inaugurated with 5 young adults from South Side who grew into dedicated yoga and meditation practitioners. They created the initiative to bring these tools to their community. The Urban Yogis now all teach yoga in the NYC Public Schools , detention centers, at Brooklyn Yoga Club and St. Philip's church.
